Letter from the Director

Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Conway Regional. We are glad you are considering our program.

For the past 100 years, Conway Regional has provided high-quality, compassionate care to communities in north Central Arkansas. Conway Regional is a wonderful place to practice medicine that offers a supportive culture for your residency training. Our program is defined and guided by our community-based healthcare system that reaches an eight-county service area.

Conway Regional’s Internal Medicine Residency Program trains residents to provide high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care to their patients. Our program allows residents to gain education through didactics and hands on training in classroom settings, while also providing opportunities for clinical experience with direct patient care. We are confident you will graduate from our program well equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to achieve your goals.

Centered on a 180-bed, acute care medical center, Conway Regional provides patients with a variety of specialty and subspecialty services. The Health System continues to grow by adding new providers and service lines that enhance our capability to provide a full range of services for our patients.

Our program focuses on learning the fundamentals of Internal Medicine practice, preparing you to excel during board examinations. You will have the opportunity to perform traditional Internal Medicine procedures such as intubations, central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and lumbar puncture. You will be able to care for a variety of patients and experience a diverse pathology.

Additionally, the size of our program allows the opportunity to develop relationships with faculty and staff that will enhance your learning experience. Our faculty is actively involved in hosting and teaching residents during rotations, in the classroom, and in research activity. You will find that our medical faculty and staff are incredibly supportive and well suited for teaching. Having served as the Chief of Staff and having been a part of the Conway Regional team for over 21 years, I can attest to the exceptional skill level and personal integrity of our faculty and staff.

I believe the culture at Conway Regional sets us apart. CRHS promotes an atmosphere of collegiality and collaboration between medical staff, nursing, ancillary staff, and administration. We truly work as a team to improve patient care and our work environment.

Home to three colleges, quiet neighborhoods, excellent public schools, and a variety of local and national retail establishments, Conway is a thriving community with a growing population. For those who enjoy outdoor recreation, there are ample opportunities to enjoy the amenities of The Natural State. You will find Conway to be a great place to live, whether for three years of training or for an entire career.

We look forward to seeing you during the application process.

Sincerely,
